Meet Aspen

Ready to share her story, meet Aspen! ?

Out of curiosity, do I look familiar to anyone? If so, it is because I was recently welcomed back into rescue. My adopter ended up having some pretty big life changes which resulted in me being left alone a lot and they wanted me to have more. They wanted me to find a family that has more time to spend with me as I love being with my people! I am sad that my home didn't work out but also excited to find my FOREVER people. The ones who will never ever let me go!

My name is Aspen and I am a 4.5-year-old, 66lb female Great Pyrenees. I have a GORGEOUS white fluffy coat and will be sure to steal your heart! I tend to be on the calm side in the house, and playful outside.

Below you will find what my foster has to say about me

"Aspen is a little unsure and timid but is slowly getting better. She seems more at ease being around the men in the house. I feel she would do well in a home with another dog, as long as it is a male. She is most playful with a couple of our male dogs. She needs someone to have lots of patience as she is an owner surrender and just is not quite sure what is going on in her life. She is a beautiful sweet girl!"

??To My New Family (Part 1) ??

While you were reading what my foster had to say, I have compiled a list of some things that my potential family should know about me.

?I am totally that "shy girl" when meeting new people. I want to be outgoing but am unsure what to do and tend to hang back. However, once I get to know you I am your BEST FRIEND! I have gone for outings to the lake with my foster family and have done well. I have good manners and don't jump on people.

?I have not shown to be a big chewer in my foster home. I have not shown any interest in fetch or toys. I don't seem to be a water dog either. My time is much better spent playing with the other dogs or getting lovings from my foster dad.

? I do have some food aggression towards other dogs. My new family should monitor me or feed me separately if they have other dogs during feeding time. I have not shown to have any issues with resource guarding.

? I am good with other dogs. I enjoy playing with them. I will say that I am not a big fan of female dogs and will try to keep them away from my foster dad. Because of this, the dogs in my new home would need to be male.

? I am not being fostered around cats so am unsure how I would do with them. I was fine when I originally came into rescue, so figure I would be okay with them.

? I have not been around any kids so am unsure how I would do with them.

?I am potty trained. I am NOT a fan of the kennel. When no one is home or at night, I have free roam of the house and do excellent.

? I am unsure how I would do in an apartment setting. I have not shown to be very vocal in my foster home so far unless there was cause to bark. I do well on walks, but can be a bit timid. I ride well in the car.

?I am being fostered in Purcell, OK. We do not send our dogs on transports or ship them. This means my new family needs to pick me up, even if they are out of state.

?My adoption fee is $225. That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

??To My New Family (Part 2) ??

If I have stolen your heart then please read on to make sure you are the right fit for me!

My ideal home would be one that has another playful male dog. I would also love it if my owner was home most of the day. I would be fine as an only dog, but only if my owner is home all day. I could not handle being all alone for several hours a day. I would be PYRfect for a family that is wanting a calmer dog but also someone who can be a companion/playmate for their other dog.
