Appletini (aka Tini)'s Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

---

Meet Appletini - aka Tini. This very special girl arrived with her siblings over 7 months ago - and it was apparent she was a little different, a little more concerned about the world around her. So... she went to live with our amazing foster mom Beth - who works with our shy dogs. Tini loves other dogs, she's has the most ridiculous friendship with the resident cat (who thinks he's a dog). After some time, she slowly started to realize that the Humans in the home could be trusted. To help her, we recently started her on an anti-anxiety medication called Fluoxetine. That's when she really started to shine.

Recently, her foster mom went out of town for the weekend and we moved her to another foster home full of friendly dogs - this was a big test for Tini - and she passed!!! She did so well in a home with strangers... LOVED the resident dogs and even met some kids. Tini has the best eyebrows! She just turned a year old in April and is about 60#. And... she's ready to find a home of her own.

Now... what's her BEST home!! Well, that's gonna be one that has dog experience - willing to go slow and be patient with the process as she adjusts to a new space. Dogs... you must have dogs! Playful and fun. A large fenced yard would be perfect for this sweet girl, to keep her safe while she learns her place in her new family. While Tini has met kids, little ones can be stompy and loud - so older kids or even an active adult home would be great. After some time, we think Tini would love to go on adventures - hiking, and more.

We did DNA last year and it was a little surprising, the whole litter was a fun mix of colors and coats, gotta love genetics. all things puppy - crate training, housebreaking, leash walking - the works!

Tini will definitely benefit from the 3-3-3 rule. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.

This dog is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She will need her adult vaccines in August. She is crate trained, housebroken, and in her most recent sleepover, slept on the dog bed in the foster's bedroom.

She goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience). It's simple, you pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. Adoption applications may be approved in just a couple days. If you are planning on a vacation or have an issue that may delay your ability to pick up your puppy within a few days of approval, please let us know.

Adoption fee is $425. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
