When rescuers found her small trembling figure huddled on the shoulder of the highway, she was a shadow of what a young dog should be—ribs showing through matted fur, covered in fleas and ticks, flinching at every approaching hand.<br/><br/>**The Girl Who Found Her Confidence Again**<br/><br/>In those first weeks of foster care, Apple moved through the world like she was walking on eggshells. Every gesture was tentative, every interaction measured by fear. <br/><br/>But something remarkable began happening as she slowly learned to trust again. "She started following us around," her foster family recalls.
