Not 100% yet. Our dogs often need 1-2 weeks (sometimes more) of further training to become fully housebroken. While in group foster care, they aren’t in an environment where structured potty training is possible, as they often live in areas without access to grass or carpet.

• Currently in Guadalajara foster care. 2-4 weeks to arrange flight once adoption is approved

**Apple's Story**

Apple was barely past her puppy months when she found herself in an unthinkable situation—abandoned on a busy highway by the family she trusted unconditionally. When rescuers found her small trembling figure huddled on the shoulder of the highway, she was a shadow of what a young dog should be—ribs showing through matted fur, covered in fleas and ticks, flinching at every approaching hand.

**The Girl Who Found Her Confidence Again**

In those first weeks of foster care, Apple moved through the world like she was walking on eggshells. Every gesture was tentative, every interaction measured by fear.

But something remarkable began happening as she slowly learned to trust again. "She started following us around," her foster family recalls. "First from across the room, then gradually getting closer until eventually she was right at our heels."

Her honey-colored eyes, once clouded with uncertainty, began to brighten with curiosity. The trembling stopped. The cowering became confident tail wagging. Most remarkably, this dog who had every reason to be guarded with her affection became one of the most trusting, social dogs her foster family had ever known.

**A Day in Apple's World**

Apple has so much energy she could power a small town! She starts every morning at her foster home with an enthusiastic round of greetings that puts a smile on everyone's face. "Apple is incredibly social and greets every person with such sweetness" her foster family notes.

They've observed that though she loves playing with other dogs, she can be a bit protective of her toys and food. "She'd probably thrive best as an only dog where she can be the center of attention without having to share her favorite things," shares her foster mom.

Whether she's engaging in high-energy play sessions or bouncing around the yard, this social butterfly does everything with infectious enthusiasm that'll keep you on your toes.

**Your Adventure Buddy Awaits**

Apple's alert, perky ears are always tuned in for the next exciting thing, and when she tilts her head with curiosity, there's something irresistibly charming about her expression, as if she's saying "I'm ready for anything!"

At around a year old, she's still got some of that boundless puppy energy that dreams of hiking trails, exploring new places, and keeping up with an active family who loves adventure as much as she does. At about 25 pounds, she's the perfect size for tagging along on everything from neighborhood jogs to weekend camping trips.

**Ready for Her Real Beginning**

During the past 3 months, Apple has transformed from a frightened, abandoned puppy into her true self--a loving, playful, devoted companion with an enormous capacity for joy. She's proven she can thrive in a home with other dogs and bond deeply with her people. She's adaptable, gentle, and endlessly affectionate.

This remarkable girl has shown that resilience isn't just about surviving difficult times, but about opening your heart completely once you find safety again. Apple is ready to be someone's devoted companion, adventure buddy, and source of daily smiles.

Maybe that someone is you?
