Angus's Story
Meet Angus – The Gentle Soul Who Never Gave Up

Some dogs have every reason to stop trusting people. Angus isn't one of them.

At just 1 year old and around 53 pounds, this handsome American Bully mix came to an overcrowded shelter after his owner could no longer provide the care he needed. What was discovered was heartbreaking. Angus had severe, deep tissue wounds around both of his front wrists that appeared consistent with having been tethered so tightly for so long that the restraints cut into his skin. He is still recovering from the trauma and is still receiving anti-inflamatory pain medication, but may always have a limp even though there are no broken bones, despite the care provided - but don't let this fool you... it doesn't slow Angus down!

Despite the unimaginable pain and discomfort he had endured, Angus never let his past define him. He never showed aggression, resentment, or fear toward the people trying to help him. Instead, he wagged his tail, leaned in for affection, placed his giant heavy head in the hands of his foster, and reminded everyone that kindness still existed in his heart.

After spending time healing in a loving foster home, Angus has blossomed into the happiest, sweetest boy you could hope to meet. He's incredibly social, adores people, and simply wants to be where his family is. He has done wonderfully with other dogs, has shown no concerns around cats, and has even spent time with young children—who he absolutely delights in being around.

Angus has excellent house manners, is crate trained, and actually enjoys relaxing in his crate when the door is left open. He's highly food and treat motivated, making him a joy to train, and he already has fantastic recall because his favorite place in the world is right by his people's side.

One of the sweetest things about Angus is that he's only recently discovered the joy of toys. Watching him learn how to play and simply be a carefree dog is something special. After everything he's been through, he is finally getting to experience what every dog deserves—love, comfort, safety, and people who genuinely care about him.

Because of the injuries he sustained, Angus will not be placed in a home where tethering will ever be used. He has already lived through that chapter of his life, and it is one that will never be repeated.

Angus doesn't ask for much. A soft place to rest, a family to adore, and someone who will promise that his hardest days are behind him forever.

If you're looking for an incredibly forgiving, affectionate, loyal companion with a heart far bigger than his past, Angus is waiting to show you just how much love one dog can give.

He's ready for the family that will cherish him, spoil him, and love him furever.

Angus is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Neutered

ADOPTION FEE: $400

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
