Amazing Spike's Story
This unbelievably gorgeous, wonderfully sweet big mush of a boy is Spike! This guy was abandoned in an ice storm, tied to the front door of a vet clinic- surely by an individual unable to care for him but wanting to try to give him a chance at finding a better future. Everyone at the vets office heart broke for him, shivering, alone, sad and confused. They took him in and fed him and gave him warmth and love, and did their best to reach out to rescues to find him help.
Spike is 2 years old, and weighing over 80 lbs. He’s a big guy, and he’s healthy and thriving! He’s now had his medical work completed and is current on vaccines, deworming, he’s heartworm tested negative and is current on preventative. He has also been microchipped and neutered. He’s doing amazing and is officially ready for adoption!
With rescues, shelters, and foster homes full, there was much juggle to keep this guy safe and sound until he finds his dream home. Fortunately he’s able to be fostered short term by a volunteer, hoping an amazing home decides to add this guy as their newest family member! Spike has the energy level of a Rottie, so he is happy to do absolutely anything you’d like to do, hiking, car rides, going to Home Depot or tractor supply, you name it he’s happy to do it with you, but he also enjoys easy going days where you’d be happy to relax with him on the sofa and snuggle watching a movie. He does love to play with other dogs, and has met pups large and small. He’s fostered with a female shepherd who he fell in love with pretty quickly! He would do great with a canine playmate and friend, but he will be just fine as an only dog too. If he sees a person outside he has a big bark, but he’s been great meeting new people and going out and socializing. He looks just like a Rottie with a natural tail, but has the gorgeous catahoula merling on his coat! He’s an easy going country guy and would love a home with a yard where he can relax and enjoy the breeze and the peace of nature. He’d love easy going parents simply looking for a big mush to be their companion in life, to walk with, hang out in the yard with, and snuggle with in the evening. He’s super intelligent and attentive, and follows people’s cues very well. He is a confident, brilliant, loving, great dog. He’s great going to the bathroom outside reliably, both on and off leash. He loves toys and treats, and is just such a loyal boy.
If this gorgeous hunk of a pup is who you’ve been looking for and you’d love to rescue him, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

**NOTE** to ensure prompt response- please go directly to our website (www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org) to apply, or email (inquiries.rescuematch@aol.com) directly with any questions to ensure your inquiry/application is received by our organization.
