Alfie's Story
Meet Alfie!

Alfie’s story started with a rough beginning, but thanks to a Good Samaritan and Safe Haven Dog Rescue, he’s getting the happy ending he deserves.

Alfie and his three siblings were found on the side of the road shortly after birth. A Good Samaritan stepped in and bottle-fed these tiny babies for several weeks before they came to Safe Haven, where their bottle feedings continued until they were ready for soft food and eventually kibble. Their foster family gave them plenty of love, handling, and attention as they grew—and today, Alfie is a healthy, happy, and wonderfully social puppy.

Born June 27, 2026, Alfie is a sweet little guy who is surprisingly calm for his age. He loves being close to his people and soaking up all the companionship he can get, but he’s not constantly bouncing off the walls.

Alfie is also keeping his crate clean, so he’s already off to a great start with potty training!

With his gentle personality, affectionate nature, and love for his people, Alfie is ready to trade his tough beginning for something he’s never had before: a family to call his own.

Interested in meeting Alfie? Email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional information.

Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.

To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.

To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
