Aiden Labrador Retriever Mix Tuscaloosa, AL

Yep, he looks like a mini yellow lab! This cutie pie is Aiden, a 1 year old male Labrador mix. Aiden weighs about 30-35 and is more like a big beagle than a big lab. Aiden was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been picked up with his siblings (one was Bonnie Bee that we adopted out) and no one came to claim any of them. Poor Aiden had been down there almost 2 months and did not do well because he was so nervous and scared.

Aiden is very sweet but he can be very timid with new surroundings. He is still like a puppy and will need help with socializing him to the world. It seems he did not get much of that as a young puppy.
Aiden was adopted out in August but due to the serious health issue of the new owner, they had to bring him back to us in late September. There they really worked on his house training and made big strides. They also worked on his socializing and Aiden was really improving on being comfortable meeting new people. Aiden does need to get his energy out or he will get chewy – again, still a puppy in a lot of ways. So he will need lots of chew toys and time to exercise.
He should be okay in an apartment but he will need plenty of exercise to run off his youthful energy. Aiden will require a fenced-in yard and is not to be an outside only dog, he needs to be with people and socialized. He should be fine with children 10 and up, but not too young as they may be too active for him. He seems to do better with other dogs around him because they make him more comfortable.

We have started on his crate training. Aiden is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Aiden is so adorable and so ready for a home to help him gain confidence to take on the world!
