Adelaide's Story

KARAOKE QUEEN LOOKING FOR A NEW AUDIENCE!!!
Adelaide is a young Jack Russell terrier plus rat terrier plus Lakeland terrier plus every possible breed of terrier you can think of (DNA tested) who was found in downtown Portland last winter unable to walk. She was emaciated, filthy and had 2 luxated patellae (hind knee joint). Adelaide weighs a 14 slim pounds.
Adelaide has had remedial surgery on her left hind leg with steel implants to hold the bone in place. Her right hind patella also luxates but pops back in on its own, and now that Adelaide can walk (and run) on ALL 4 legs, we are optimistic that exercise will build the muscle in that right hind leg over time. She MAY need to have corrective surgery in the future, but maybe not - and rescue will stand by her either way if financial help is necessary.
Adelaide is house and crate trained and rides very well in the car. She is good on leash and has excellent recall off leash on hiking trails. She love love loves going hiking! Adelaide gets along equably with other dogs, but she can be bossy - VOCALLY bossy - and she might do best as an only. Either way, she has never shown anyone a tooth - canine or human.
Adelaide gets over-excited easily - hoping this will tone down as she matures - so she can be VERY noisy if it is time for a walk or anything exciting is happening. She is a vocal drama queen. So no apartments, condos or town homes.
Adelaide is in foster care in Clatskanie, Oregon. Her adoption fee is $200. She will be available for placement in mid-May after she (finally) gets spayed.

Jack Russell Rescue Oregon Washington & Idaho's Adoption Policy
We require an approved application before setting up a meet with any of our dogs. In most cases, secure fencing is a must - exceptions may be made for certain "Velcro" dogs and isolated rural properties, or for urban adopters who run daily. Except for certain dogs, no kids under the age of 6 is our rule of thumb, but it depends again on the dog and on the kids. We have a 2 to 3 week trial adoption period for all our dogs - we want everyone to be happy - and we back our dogs up for their lifetimes. Thank you for thinking of a rescue Jack!
