Meet Abel
* We are looking for a home with a fenced yard for Abel please. He loves to run, play and zoom in a yard.
Abel is a goofy, gangly teenager around 1 year old, 55lbs and rescued out of Texas. He sports the coolest pirate patch over his eye and is such a happy boy! Abel prefers female dogs if there is another dog in his future home. He does not care for male dogs.
Abel LOVES his toys and playing fetch. He will wade into his kiddie pool to cool his paws on a hot day and we think he may like water activities with practice. He has been great with his potty habits and is doing well with his crate training! He will walk into his crate for a treat and is able to relax and fall asleep in the crate. Able knows "sit", "touch", "up up" to jump up on things and off to get down off of things. He is not a big puller on leash and usually walks fairly loose leash.
Abel lights up when he sees kids and gravitates towards them. He is super duper friendly and loving with everyone he meets. A real social butterfly!
We aren't sure of Abel's breed mix but are guessing Heeler/Pit Bull mixed probably with a few other breeds dabbled in there. Abel was tested with a cat and seems workable with adequate structure and redirection. He definitely jumped back when the cat swatted at him so we liked to see that! We have his cat test videos if you'd like to view them.
Abel is neutered, heartworm tested negative, vaccinated, microchipped (it's free to register!) current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and recently dewormed.
