MEETÂ YETI!
Do they even make cats more handsome than this? Meet Yeti, an 11 year old odd-eyed polydactyl! Yeti was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter because his former owner was moving and couldn't bring him along. Though it does seem Yeti being surrendered was in his best interest since he had severely infected ears that had never been treated which also left him with large wounds from scratching at them. It was a long road to recovery, but Yeti is looking and feeling like a whole new cat and is ready to find his forever home!
It's hard to miss Yeti's mismatched blue/gold eyes, or his long white mane, but don't forget to check out his MANY toes. This polydactyl wants nothing more than to spend your day with you, as long as there's time to play! You wouldn't know Yeti is a senior; he loves crinkle balls, wire toys, feathers, and laser pointers, and can hang with the younger cats. This might be a little surprising considering he's not only deaf, but blind in one eye! Regardless, he knows when you're around and will wake up with a loud "mrow" excited to see you. Sometimes he'll even climb onto your shoulder; he loves being carried around. Yeti loved playing with his cat siblings in foster care, and could do well with small dogs with slow introductions.
Yeti has been fully vetted since coming to the rescue. His ears have fully healed and his diagnostics show that he's in great shape. He'll make a great companion for a family without younger kids since he likes his space when he's had his fill of pets. This magnificent creature can't wait to adorn your window sill!
Yeti is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting him? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
