Taryn CT KitKat Domestic Short Hair New York, NY

Taryn is a female semi-feral 2 year old cat. She was caught from a group in NC who’s mission it is to stop overpopulation. She has lived outside her entire life and when caught she was pregnant. Taryn then transported to CT where she had her litter of kittens who have all gone home. She was a great momma! She has now been, spayed, vaccinated and FIV negative.
She would make a great barn cat or possibly a house spirit cat. When we feed her she comes over and will occasionally let us touch her head or she'll rub against our leg. She progresses more and more the longer she has been in the home. We are hopeful that one day she will learn to be lap cat.
We are open to her being a barn cat as long as the person is willing to make sure she always has access for food, water, shelter, proper shelter during the colder months as well as kept up w/ vax and flea/tick preventative. All our cats are in the NY area and can be adopted out of state. We do like to meet you so plan on picking up; if flying, in cabin only; in some cases we will help with transport.

Please note: kittens MUST be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we are happy to recommend cats who would do best as solos. Cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/Felv tested, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, you can perhaps foster, volunteer, and of course, you can always donate!
