MEET SHIBA!

Shiba is a beautiful petite senior (estimated 10 years old) kitty who was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter when the only owner she’s known her whole life passed away and her and her 4 kitty siblings were surrendered to the shelter. Her siblings were all adopted out within a week but Shiba was so shy and scared at the shelter always hiding under her blankie or in a box no one could see how pretty she was or feel how soft she is. A wonderful foster scooped her up after a month of being shy to find out her true personality.

When it comes to senior cats Shiba is the FAKEST. This girl might be estimated to be 10 years old but she sure doesn’t act like it. She runs around and jumps on things a senior shouldn’t be able to reach. She loves playing and cuddling. When you’ve been away for a bit she greets you with meows and when she’s near her people she is a purring machine. It takes her a bit to warm up but once she trusts you she is OBSESSED with you. She is weary around strangers but has been getting braver and approaching to sniff them out.

We think she would do well in a house with other cats with a proper introduction period as she has lived with other cats and looks at the resident cat with interest. Another cat in the home might help her be brave. Shiba would do best on a fish protein only diet as the avian proteins cause her to have allergic reactions. Single source protein foods can be found at any local pet store and she is so petite she barely cost you anything to feed monthly. Please someone adopt this perfect girl!
