Meet Mog (special needs)

Mog is a 2-year-old goofball looking for his forever home!

This cute guy is the most adorable and patient cat you'll ever meet. He loves to get to know new people; he immediately becomes a lap cat with strangers to show them how cool of a guy he is! When he becomes more comfortable with you, he will follow you around the house, supervising all your activities and will lounge next to you or chilling on your lap for a nice comfy nap.

He loves play time, especially with you, but will be okay playing by himself or with an automatic laser pointer now and then when you’re really busy. He has the best and "crunchiest" meow, which he uses to ask for his food or to say hello when you come back home!

He will make you laugh every day with his shenanigans and very expressive face, both of which you'll experience when he gets his daily zoomies. He is a proper gentleman, so he will accept and love all the pets and love you give him. He also tolerates being picked up and may even enjoy it for a bit—but after a short time, he would rather get back on the ground so he can go back to playing.

This handsome guy loves to take a nice long nap on his favorite chair by the window, and when he is recharged, he adores playing with his rope toy, laser pointer, and crinkle ball.

He has his breakfast early in the morning and then proceeds to get his daily morning cardio in. He plays for a while and then settles into his favorite chair for a long and deserved nap.

He wakes up in the afternoon to follow you around and supervise the household activities. In the late evening, he will get another play session in and then ask for his dinner. When bedtime arrives, he will sleep in his bed in your room or choose his usual napping spot (his favorite chair in the living room).

Mog currently lives in a 1-bedroom apartment with his foster mom. This boy is extremely adaptable, so he will probably thrive in many different types of households, However, having 2 humans (maybe one of them working from home) would be really fun for him as he would have someone to play with!

Mog is Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)-positive; he also has pancreatitis, which is getting better every day and is being controlled with a daily tablet of Prednisone (steroid). He has big kidneys, so he pees a lot (always in his litter box, no issue there), but his kidney function is still good, so there is no need for a special kidney diet.

This sweet boy has a sensitive stomach and is prone to getting diarrhea, so he is on a digestive care diet and is currently working with his vet to get his episodic diarrhea under control. His future people would have to be willing to continue his ongoing veterinary care.

Because Mog is FeLV+, he cannot live with another cat unless it is also FeLV+. FeLV is not contagious to humans or dogs but can be transferred to other cats. Annual vet visits, regular immunizations, and your love will help Mog maintain a normal, healthy, and happy life. You can read more about FeLV here: https://tinyurl.com/ycxhwcmu.

Mog has never met any dogs but could probably do well with gentle children with slow introductions.

Due to his pancreatitis and FeLV-positive status, he might need different types of medications throughout his life. For this reason, he would benefit from having a human that is either experienced or willing to learn to administer medications. His only medication at this time is one tablet of Prednisone taken daily by mouth.

Mog is an adorable soul who has gone through a pretty rough start in life. He has so much to give and deserves lots of affection, compassion, and attention in his forever home. His condition requires some care, but it’s only a small part of the wonderful soul he is. What he needs most is love. You could be the one to give it to him!

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.

Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat?
