Chirrup! I'm MOCHA, a handsome black and white tuxedo-wearing shorthair male cat. I am super smart and can give high fives and sit on command. I'm most content while relaxing up high on a cat tree or bookshelf, especially if there is a window to look out. I just love watching squirrels and birds. I'm a little backwards from other cats; the base of my tail is the first place I'll let you pet me. Sometimes, I even walk backwards towards my foster mom so she knows where I want to be scratched. I consider myself to be shy and independent, but I do love attention. I'll cuddle next to my foster mom for morning pets, and I'll rub up against her for more pets at meal times. I'm still suspicious during the rest of the day, but if I'm snuggled into a safe place, I will purr so loudly with any attention. My sense of humor is off the charts, and I promise to make you smile, especially during playtime. I love batting at any type of wand toy, and I'll balance on the arm or back of the office chair to make it even more challenging and silly. I also go crazy for those plastic spring toys. My foster mom complements me in how well behaved I am during nail trims; I don't even notice what she's doing half the time. Other cats and even dogs make me happy, so I need to go to a home with other four legged friends to keep me company. You might consider my buddies, a bonded pair, TARZAN and FANTASIA. I bet I'd even love non-traditional pets, but please no young children. Do you have the patience to help me overcome my insecurities? I promise to reward you for it, and when we build up trust, I'll even happily let you pet my belly.
MOCHA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and includes a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. To meet Mocha in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The $145 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
