MATILDA - the Curious "Hollywood Glamour Cat"

Precious Matilda came into rescue thru no fault of her own, her previous home could no longer care for her and the other kitties due to a sudden change of health and living circumstances which was truly heartbreaking.<br/><br/>Matilda is only 2 ½ years old, she is a purebred all white Doll Face Persian with stunning light blue eyes. Matilda is very healthy, she is spayed, up to date on her Vaccines, Microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV, her foster mom says she also has impeccable litter box use too!. <br/><br/>Matilda is however deaf like about 85% of most white cats with blue eyes are, but she certainly does not let that stop her from being an absolute sweetheart of a lap cat that will follow you everywhere in the house, she loves to run and play and be active like any other kitty her age. <br/><br/>Matilda is a solid white Persian with lovely soft fur and a super fluffy tail, her paws also have the long tuffs between her jelly bean toes which makes for many giggles from her owner of her lacking “braking power” as she chases after her toys and can slide across the floor after them.<br/><br/>As you can see by her foster moms photos, stunning Matilda is the drop-dead gorgeous Marilyn Monroe of the Hollywood Glamor feline world! We are also sharing one of her photos that was professionally done as her Purebred photo from the previous owner.<br/><br/>Matilda will need a quiet and safe home where she can be the Princess of the household, she will need to have her humans around her as she really does not like to be left alone so she would be perfect for a single person working from home or a couple working from home or a semi-retired or a retired couple that are home a lot so they can spend time with her. Since she is deaf and she can’t hear where you are, she relies on a visual contact cues or a routine she will get used to such as where you are in the house and at what time of day so she knows where to look for you. If she can’t find you or see you, she will meow and keep meowing so you can come get her so she knows where you are. As I said she does not like to be alone, and she seeks to be your companion and be wherever you are. <br/><br/>With her being deaf and also curious - a busy household with people or children coming and going would not be safe for her as she could get curious and slip out a door behind a child going out to play which would be very hazardous for her since she could not hear anyone call for her nor could she hear cars coming as she crossed a street. Doors going to the outside of the home would need to be ever so carefully watched as with any cat that is deaf.<br/><br/>In her previous home Matilda was with other kitties so she is used to being around other cats but she was not deeply bonded to any of the kitties there, she would do fine with an existing mellow male cat that is cat friendly and that would not mind being her companion buddy as long as he knows she is the Princess of the house and he can be the Prince and help to look after her. As with any new cat coming into the household of an existing cat, slow introductions would need to occur and we can help guide you with that process.<br/><br/>Matilda is very playful and will play on her own with her toys and bat her springs, toy mice and balls around to chase after them but she would love for her human caregiver(s) to play with her too with a laser pointer and feather wand. Matilda also has a stuffed bunny that she carries around in her mouth with her which is super cute! <br/><br/>She is VERY CURIOUS and will open cupboard doors and sometimes she can get into cabinets and not know how to get back out so she will meow or just sit there and wait for her human or her companion cat buddy to come find her. With that said, a home that is or can be “cat proof” and human caregivers that can keep an eye on her (and look for her if and when needed) would be ideal for her. If you have a fireplace by chance that would need to be secured off with a gate as well, Matilda was “curious” about the fireplace at her foster home when she first arrived there and she ended up looking like a black smoke kitty with bright blue eyes - Oy Vey!<br/><br/>Matilda will come with some of her own personal belongings from her previous home so the transition to her new home should be seamless as things will already smell like her and are familiar to her, she will have her food dish, assorted favorite toys, cat litter box and her cat carrier (having these items already will also save some money on her adoption). She will also have her complete Veterinary records file and her microchip information. <br/><br/>We do require a formal adoption application with references to be submitted for her adoption which we will send via email to any interested applicant. Once the adoption application is approved, a formal adoption contract will be done and the adoption date scheduled.
