Ira Domestic Short Hair Bloomsburg, PA

Ira was part of a litter born between two houses in Shamokin in March 2018. Luckily for them, cat lover Elaine stepped in to help and socialize them. Mama cat must’ve sensed something good in Elaine because she brought the kittens to her porch. Over several weeks Elaine patiently scooped them up and brought them inside to help socialize them.

Ira is actually a girl and needs a new name! She was miss sexed at the vet as a kitten and Elaine was told Ira was a boy. She later named her Iris, but we already had an Iris at the shelter and couldn’t have two. So the name Ira has just sort of stuck.

Ira has a pretty sleek silver coat and sparkling gold eyes. She does like affection and is learning to adapt to the shelter which is not as quiet as her original foster home. She would do best in a quieter home. She spends much of her time with her sister Vinca, who is all black with a small white patch on her chest.
