Goliath was a stray cat in Plainfield, Iowa that did not get claimed and does not have a microchip. He is a Waverly Pet Rescue kitty now. Goliath is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered.

Goliath is reaching his senior years as he is estimated to be around 9 years of age as of March 11th, 2022. He is neutered and he will be a little bit of a special needs cat due to the fact that he has no teeth. He is a chunky boy so no teeth does not effect his eating. Soft food would be best. He is a bit shy and nervous at first but warms up quickly with snuggles. He has been fully vetted as of now and ready to go to his forever home.

3/24/22 UPDATE: He’s doing great. Eating and using his litter just fine. He snuggles and gives elevator butts. And he works overtime at the biscuit factory. Daily. He still is a bit skittish every time I approach him. But as soon as I stroke his back, he’s awesome. Golly seems to prefer chicken over any other food flavor. He’s an excellent litter box user.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
