Meet Finnegan

I AM IN THE SENIORS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM! That means my adoption fee is waived for all applicants age 65 or more.

Hello, my name is Finnegan and I have several fun nicknames, such as Finnegan the Floofagan. I am a very special boy who deserves the absolute best home. My foster mom says I am amazing and goofy. That's a direct quote. I do have one requirement of my new home ... I demand to be spoiled absolutely rotten. I am around 12 years old. I am very opinionated and I live by the phrase, "I do what I want." My hobbies include yelling at people for more cuddles, telling everyone that they clearly don't pet me enough and burrowing under blankets. My perfect person would be someone who will absolutely adore me and spend their evenings cuddling and playing with me, someone who doesn't mind late night zoomies and a talkative kitty who wants to tell you all about his day. One of my favorite things to do is burrow, especially on chilly days. I can often be found burrowed into the blankets or in a pile of warm laundry that awaits being folded. At night, I enjoy burrowing under the blankets and laying next to my people while they sleep. I am told that I have the goofiest personality. I enjoy helping the humans get dressed for work each morning. I wait on the edge of the bed for you to get close enough so that I can stand up and put my front paws on your shoulders. Afterall, petting me is much more fun than going to work. I am just overall such a fun cat, but I am often overlooked because I am considered a senior. But you'd never know it. When I get the zoomies, running around, talking and playing with toys, you'd never guess my age. I am not terribly fond of other animals. They steal my attention and affection from the humans. Although I am warming up to a couple of cats in my foster home, so I may be okay eventually (very long eventually) with one super chill, laid back cat. But ideally, I would like to be an only pet ... and king of the household. If you want to adopt me, the Majestic Floofegan, please apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $110. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

VIRTUAL EVENT: Beginning on Friday, March 27, 2020

While we're all stuck inside for the time being, we think it's time to have some fun at our fur-babies expense. Think about all the times they walked across your keyboard this week or barked during a conference call. If you donate $10 on the Facebook post or email alex@pawsforliferescue.org, we will create your very own, potentially good, but more likely, very bad, pet portrait. Will you get one of our volunteers who is a professional artist by day? Or will you get one of our volunteers who couldn't draw a circle to save their life? No matter what, we promise to put a smile on your face and your donation will go to directly to the care of the homeless pets of Paws for Life, plus it will be matched.

ANGEL MATCH: for every $10 donated, it will be matched by an Angel Donor AND you will receive a priceless, most likely totally less than skilled, portrait of your pet! Check it out at www.facebook.com/pawsforlifeanimalrescue

Here's how it works: make a donation on the Facebook post for $10 or more, or email alex@pawsforliferescue.org for instructions. Comment on the Facebook post with a photo of your pet or email alex@pawsforliferescue.org. There is a maximum of two pets per photo. Your photo will then be assigned to one of our volunteer "artists." We will do our best to create the most accurate portrait of your pet that we can do and post it for you. No really, it's our best. While $10 is the minimum to receive a perfectly priceless relic of your pet, like all of us, Paws for Life Rescue's operations and finances are significantly impacted by COVID-19. All of our adoption events are suspended and fundraisers have been cancelled. Our in-store adoptions program is paused. Donations have taken a serious down-swing, but animals still remain in need. Any support is greatly appreciated! You can see example pet portraits below. See what you have to look forward to!

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
