Meet Ed

Ed is a beautiful, quiet 12-year-old with medium long fur who likes being around his family but is not the cuddly type. He will sit or sleep near you during the day. He is like a good friend whom you invite over: you converse, you have a meal with your friend, perhaps play cards, but you don't expect them to sit in your lap. Unlike most friends, however, he will, upon a time, sleep at the foot of your bed at night.

It will take a while for him to warm up to you, maybe a month –perhaps a bit sooner for the one who feeds him. He has that unique cat capability of making you like him. He simply is captivating.

Ed has been on Royal Canin Urinary care C/D or S/D. He eats about 1.5 cans a day and sometimes likes greenies. He welcomes a snack during mid-day, which seems to have diminished his need to gobble his food down. His fur is thick and needs to be combed frequently since careful grooming prevents hairballs. In the first week or two, he might swipe if you try to become too familiar too soon. He accepts petting him as you feed him.

Ed is a bit beyond chasing toys. Because he has been transferred from a long-time loving home, he has more significant concerns: like those that stabilize his living condition rather than a tactical strategy to nab a rag mouse on a string. Perhaps in time, he would become more comfortable playing.

Ed's ideal home would be a single-family home with two adults with time to show affection but do not need his constant attention. Warm sunny spots to sunbathe, room to run. Someone willing to feed him when he asks- he asks only when there is a real need. He needs someone who knows that it is satisfying to have offered to thankful critter a secure, relatively quiet, and welcome environment. He tolerates other cats but does not interact. We are not sure how ed would react to dogs, but we strongly recommend Ed not be in a house with children under 16 or who may want to come too close and interact too soon.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
