Meet Dr Shelly

Dr. Shelly came in from outside just a few days ago and loves hanging in the home office while I work. She's also doing great being alone in the room the rest of the day. She's eating wet and dry food well and using the litter box. She doesn't have a huge appetite like some cats who I've seen come from outside. She's a slow eater.

When I'm working, she curls up on my lap or my arm and purrs and kneads away. She communicates well through chirps and is very handsy. When she wants a scratch or snuggle, she reaches a paw out and gives me a few pats. She is very alert and would thrive with someone who likes to talk a lot.

She is content to laze away all day and hasn't shown much interest in playing with toys. This may be because she is still recovering from giving birth and surgery, and she may end up being playful eventually.

She's grooming herself nicely and has very short hair. She doesn't seem to shed much at all. This might be nice for someone with a mild allergy who wants a cat anyway. I'm super allergic to some cats and this cat doesn't make me sneeze at all.

She's not very photogenic because she's too busy trying to snuggle and headbutt the camera, and she always looks like she's about to fall asleep.

We're getting along super well and she doesn't seem nervous around other visitors. She comes to say hello to anyone who opens the door to her room. When the other cats have attempted to bust in to meet her, she has been friendly, but a touch nervous. I think she'll be great with other cats in time.
