Meet Colette

Colette first came to the shelter in early April, quite pregnant, and after bearing four kittens and adopting an orphaned fifth, and nursing all to good health and homes, she was finally adopted August 1 to a home with another young cat and dogs. Sadly, she just never adjusted to life with the dogs and was returned to the shelter in early September so that she could find a home where she’d be happier.

Colette is somewhat shy, quiet and not very outgoing, but she really enjoys gentle petting and one-on-one attention, and is easy to pick up, hold and love. She is fond of other cats, enjoys being with them, is submissive to them and does not quarrel with them, and should do well in a home with another cat . Because she is still a bit shy, a home with older children would be better than one with small children. She would also make a nice, quiet companion to an elder person who would just like to have a cat around to talk to and care for. She shows all the signs of becoming a very affectionate companion cat once she’s in the right home and adjusts to the new environment.

Please help this nice cat, who was a wonderful mama not just to her own four kittens, but also the orphan she adopted, find the home she deserves.

Colette is estimated to be 2 years old, is box-trained, spayed, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (credit card, check or money order payable to “Town of Scituate” — no cash, please!).
