Meet Cinders

Hi my name is Cinders and I am a female, medium haired Lilac Point Siamese mix. When I am fully grown, I will look like a Lilac Point Balinese. They are beautiful and special.

My sister Calpurna and I had an extremely rough start in life. You probably want to why I only have one eye. It is because we were very, very sick and got dropped off at the shelter, because the people who owned us could no afford our medical care. The shelter put us with their very best foster to try and get us well. We had a illness causing an upper respiratory bacterial infection that spread into our eyes. Our foster mom started to see signs that we were fading fast and thought we would die, so she called Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue and asked if they could help us. We ended up in their care because their rescue had the medical resources and experienced fosters to take care of us. They worked diligently and gave us round the clock formula, fluids, antibiotics and eye meds. At first, we were blind, our eyes were swollen shut. They eventually got better, but I could never see out of my left eye and it always felt like there was sand in my eye, because I had a lot of tissue scar tissue over my eyes from the infection. The veterinarian tried to remove the tissue through surgery, but it did not feel any better and I could not see out of it. So, they scheduled another surgery to remove it. When I woke up without my eye - I was so happy! Finally, I had no more pain. My sister and foster mom did not even notice my eye was gone.

I am a very happy girl now and I am ready for find a home for life. My foster mom said there are so many people that Siamese kittens and she is sure they will not mind me having only one eye.

Here is what my foster mom says about me - "Cinders is extremely fond of their foster mom - which will translate to her new owner and she loves being underfoot. She is intelligent, agile, athletic, and loving. She is quite as outspoken. and will let you know exactly what they are thinking. If you do not like a chatty kitty then this is not the cat for you because before you know it, she will "tell all." Cinders loves to play so toys are something that is needed to entertain her. She will play with you for hours but during your time away, she will need plenty of outlets for her brain to stay active. Being a smart cat, she crave activities and play and would be much happier is she has a playmate like her sister."
