Riley Parrot Eclectus Alexander, NC

Riley is a 9 year old male eclectus. He has a history of feather destructive behavior. He LOVES food, and needs a home that will continue him on a healthy diet, geared to the specialized dietary needs of eclectus parrots. He is learning to forage and play with toys, so also needs a home that will continue to work with him on finding other, beneficial ways to occupy his time (playing with toys and foraging) rather than over-preening. (We were told he didn't play with toys prior to coming to us. He's very food motivated, though, so is doing great with destroying toys to obtain a food item inside.)

He seems very social and interested in people, but wants to get to know you a bit before stepping up. (Treats help with this, too!) So, all the hard work you do on meal prep, toy prep, and cleanup, will pay off by earning Riley's trust and friendship.
