Meet Squirtle

Hi, my name is SQUIRTLE! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Mellow, quiet, friendly
-Can live with kids: Kids can be in the home, however his primary caregiver needs to be an adult.
-Experienced Chinchilla home: Not required, but preferred. We strongly recommend doing plenty of research if this will be your first chinchilla.
-Lifespan: 10+ years
-Can live with other Chinchillas: Yes, with a proper introduction. Males tend to be a little less territorial than the females.
-Bite History: No

-Additional information:
Squirtle will need a nice roomy, well ventilated cage with multiple levels that can be kept cool and dry, and the right kind of flooring to prevent foot injuries. His diet should consist of high quality pellet food, unlimited grass hay (timothy/orchard/oat, alfalfa is NOT a grass hay) and a small amount of species appropriate treats daily. He will also need dust baths 1-2 times a week. Squirtle came to us as a stray, so we have no information on his previous home. We are not sure he has lived in a home with other animals or other chinchillas, so please take great care in attempting to introduce him to other pets. We will need proof of an appropriate enclosure before he can go home.
