Nothingburger with Everything Bagel-In Foster's Story
Nothingburger and Everything Bagel are a sweet bonded pair of guinea pigs. While they might start off a little "shy girl" when meeting new faces, their sweet personalities truly shine once they feel safe.

Once the "ice is broken," these girls are incredibly social! They enjoy interacting with their humans and will likely greet you with those iconic guinea pig squeaks once they know the veggie drawer is opening.

Because they can be a bit nervous, they would do best in a home with children aged 10 and up who understand how to handle small animals gently and respect their space.

The way to these sisters' hearts is definitely through their stomachs! Keep the bell peppers and romaine lettuce handy, and you'll be best friends in no time.

Are you ready to give these sisters the patient, loving home they deserve? Come meet them today!

The guinea pig adoption fee is $35 (for a single, pair or trio).

As most of our small animals are in fostercare, if you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about this pet, the best way to start the process is to call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us at springfield@dakinhumane.org. If you already have a cage, please send a picture of your cage when you inquire.

We've made a video about how to set up guinea pigs for success! Check it out, above with the photos.

Guinea pigs are incredibly social animals who need to be kept in pairs/groups to thrive. If there are two names listed together (eg Peanut Butter w/Jelly), that means that the two animals are a bonded pair of friends, and must be adopted together.

Housing requirements: Guinea pigs need horizontal (ground) space.
- 1-2 guinea pigs: 6.5 square feet cage, but more is better
- Three guinea pigs: 8 square feet, but more is better, especially if they are boys
- Expect to spend around $100 on guinea pig housing and supplies to prepare for your new pet.
- The least expensive and largest way to house your pigs well is by creating a C & C cage, which is a DIY creation! This page has lots of links with how-to and ideas, copy and paste into a browser window; http://www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm or Google "C&C guinea pig cages" to find more!

If you've never owned a Guinea Pig before, check out this site to learn more about these amazing little animals: https://www.guineadad.com/pages/guineadad-blogs
