Lemmy's Story

Lemmy is a male syrian hamster who's come out of a horrible situation. There was 56 hamsters dropped off at a reptile rescue by the owners friend. Out of those hamsters, we agreed to take in 50. They came from a situation that got out of hand with 4 escaped hamsters breeding throughout the owners home, totaling around 200. Out of all the ones we've received, only a handful had minor injuries.

Because of all the chaos, we can only guess based off of body size/coat condition and developmental features, he is estimated to be 3-4 months old.

Lemmy is a small little fella. He's gentle and a sweetie, but he is more of a couch potato that likes to spend the majority of his active time, sleeping. He likes to dig and make burrows or be in his nest. He is not active at all, but occasionally you may see him on his wheel or foraging for food you just sprinkled inside his cage. We think he comes out at later hours of the night. So a bit of an oddball but he's too cute not to love! Lemmy also has a bit of white on his chest so he's not fully black. He's just a tiny sweet fella who'd like a quiet, not so active home lifestyle to reflect his.

He would be best suited for a home for adults only who is looking for a chill fella like himself. Beginner or experienced owners are fine!

Adoption fee is $20.

Please inquire under the ad to start the adoption process. We respond to emails Mon-Friday and are operating with very few volunteers at this time, so our response times will vary. Please be patient while we review your application.
