Meet BB and Button
Hi, our names are BB and Button! Here is what would work best for us in our new home:
-Personality: Curious, Active, Spunky
-Can Live With Kids: Yes
-Can Live With Other Gerbils: Yes, these two will need to be adopted as a pair!
-Housing: Gerbils require a roomy wire cage or extra large aquarium with multiple levels, plenty of absorbent bedding to burrow in, and of course TOYS (ie. exercise wheels, wooden chew toys, paper towel tubes, hide houses) because gerbils are very active and love to play! Avoid soft plastics as gerbils are known to chew.
-Diet: Keep their bowl filled with a high-quality gerbil pellet-seed mix. Gerbils can also have a small amount of appropriate veggies daily, and appropriate fruits as a treat every other day. If this will be your first gerbil, we strongly recommend doing some research into appropriate treats, as some fruits/veggies are toxic to gerbils.
Additional Information: The average gerbil lifespan is 2-3 years. Unfortunately we do not know how old these little guys are, but they are definitely still full of energy! We have been able to handle them, but they are still a little skittish and will need plenty of socialization in their new home.
