Meet Tye
Tye has come such a long way since he became a foster with us in January of 2022. He is a whole new rabbit and we adore him. His exact age is unknown but he is at least 5, though probably closer to 8.
When it comes to pellets and greens, Tye doesn't have any preferences and will eat whatever you give him. He also wants treats all the time, and will beg for whatever you are eating. In order to maintain his weight, Tye gets a tablespoon of oats every morning which he always looks forward to.
He enjoys being pet and will even approach you to shove his head under your hand. It is not uncommon for him to follow you around as you walk through a room. This sweetie loves sleeping on a heating pad, will drink 64 oz of water a day, and has magical fur that changes colors and patterns as the seasons change.
Tye has maloccluded molars that will require a trim 3-4 times a year. If he goes too long without a trim, his teeth grow into his tongue and cause painful ulcers, which makes him stop eating. Molar trims are a common procedure for rabbits but do require anesthesia. It is about $200 per trim.
