Meet Sid
Sadly, Sid was left on the side of the road in a rabbit hutch on a freezing cold, snowy day. This guy is lucky to have been found by one of our amazing volunteer!
Sid is a small guy weighing in at a whopping 2lbs. He's a little shy but easy to bribe with a small slice of banana or Oxbow treat. He's a good hay eater and in only a week at his foster home has become great at using his litterbox.
Sid does not like being picked up. Although he will hop over to you he prefers only small head pats and would like all four paws to remain on the ground. Once neutered, Sid will likely make an excellent bondmate for a female rabbit.
We recommend that rabbits be kept in a baby-gated area with easily cleanable flooring. A cost effective and easy set up is to purchase a piece of cut vinyl flooring and then place a baby gate/Xpen around it. It will give the rabbit room to hop around and learn to use a litter box.
If you're interested in adopting, please email a photo of where you intend to keep the rabbit to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org. We will email you back an application and basic information so you can be prepared to take home a rabbit to foster it to potentially adopt.
There is a $100 adoption fee, which includes spay/neuter, nail trim, and exam - we will send you home with your rabbit's paperwork, toys, bedding, and food.
