When she sees her people, she's often waiting at the front of her pen, ready for attention. She loves pets, treats, exploring, and spending time with her family. In fact, if given the opportunity, she'll happily crawl right into your lap to be closer to you.

This sweet girl has lived in a home with loud dogs and a toddler and enjoys all the attention she can get, no matter where it's coming from. She is outgoing, curious, and friendly, and her confidence continues to grow every day. She also loves spending time outside, investigating new sights and smells, and seeing what adventures the day might bring.

Rootie is currently using her litter box about 90% of the time and continues to improve as she settles into life as a beloved house rabbit.

One thing her foster family wants you to know: don't let her serious expression fool you. Rootie occasionally looks like she's judging the entire world, but behind that adorable little face is one of the friendliest rabbits you'll ever meet.

If You're Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know...

Hi! Are you sitting down? Great, because I'd really like to climb into your lap. I love people, treats, pets, adventures, and pretty much anything that involves spending time with my family. I'm curious about everything and always want to know what's going on. Sometimes my face makes me look very serious, but I promise I'm actually hoping you're about to pet me or hand me a snack. If you're looking for a bunny who wants to be your friend from the very beginning, I think we should meet.

To help Rutabaga (Rootie) go From Foster to Forever, apply today at www.oswegocountyspca.org/adoption-application.html

Important Adoption Information

When you submit your application:

Please notify your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it's okay to speak with us. If you don't currently have a vet, please identify which one you'll be using and set up care so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For pets already in the home:

Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to ensure everyone stays healthy and safe.

Keep in mind:

We are 100% foster-based and 100% volunteer-operated. Our team works hard to process applications as quickly as possible. Please be patient but if you don't hear back within a few days, message us on Facebook to confirm your application went through.
