Meet Jenny
Jenny’s story is one for the books. It is also one that really needs to be heard.
This is the reality of farm stores and breeders.
Jenny was purchased with another bun. Unfortunately they were sexed wrong and you know what that means, SURPRISE Baby buns! Those buns made it only a couple weeks before the dog in the home attacked them and they all died. Shortly after that Jenny had another surprise litter. She had become pregnant right after she delivered the first litter.
She is now with us and getting some one on one with a foster who specializes in the care of traumatized buns. Jenny has been through so much and deserves love and care. She will be available for adoption after she is spayed but she cannot be in a busy home or a home with a dog.
Two rabbits purchased turned into 14, 6 died a cruel death. Imagine that on the scale of all rabbit’s purchases for $20 here and there for Easter, or from farm stores or your craigslist breeders. In the end the rabbits aren’t even kept by the purchaser they come to us unfixed and terrified. This is why we are constantly trying to keep up. The rate of rabbits coming in this year has been honestly insane. The amount of surrender request we have gotten has been scary.
Rabbit education is so important and that’s the one thing we want to push as much as we possibly can.
