Meet Herbert

Herbert had a home that he kept escaping from and then the kids on the street would chase and torment him. The neighbor kept returning him to the home but the last time they attempted to return him the "owners" had moved and left Herbert behind. How sad. The neighbor reached out to me and I gladly accepted this deserving agouti lionhead/lop mix boy.

When he arrived at the rescue his nails were very long and I doubt they had ever been trimmed. He was sorely in need of neutering as his personal hygiene/scent glad pockets were quite smelly! We took care of that and he is now neutered and smelling fresh as a daisy after some gentle cleaning!

Herbert immediately took to the comfy, plush bed provided to him here at Kribs for Kritters. He also quickly jumped into his litter box stuffed with hay and began munching away.

Herbert is a chunky monkey, a good-sized boy is he! Don't let that deter you though as he is a wonderful bunny with a fabulous disposition despite what he likely tolerated in his former life.

He will sit on your lap for hours of loving! His favorite play activity is chasing and gnawing the broom! So, I bought him his very own! It is the funniest thing!

If you're one who loves a lop/lionhead mix bunny, Herbert may just be the fellow you've been looking for!

If Herbert can't live indoor and be free roaming or live in a room or a section of a room, then an exercise pen (x-pen), also known as a puppy pen, or home made DIY wire grid system enclosure is a suitable alternative. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it.

Please be over 18 if inquiring about a rabbit.

Herbert can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. The adoption fee is $60 which just covers the neuter surgery and rescue intake medication protocols. Any additional donations to keep the rescue afloat are greatly appreciated.

Don't have the items you need to welcome a bunny to your home? No problem, I have low cost x-pen enclosures, litter boxes, bunny litter, hay, food pellets and toys to make new bunny ownership easier for you. Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!

Or, if you prefer to get your bunny supplies ahead of time, PLEASE consult with me before you purchase them as I can direct you to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials.
