Boo & Marcus (South Surrey)'s Story

Boo came to VRRA in the summer of 2023 as a baby rabbit. Her family had lost everything in the wildfires and had to surrender her. She is blind in one eye but was cleared by the specialist to be adopted.

Marcus, her partner, is a lively blue-eyed dwarf, He came to VRRA in 2024, rescued from bad conditions, and is estimated to be about 3 years old.

Both are litter trained, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on their vaccines.

Notes from their foster person:

Boo and Marcus were fosters living side by side for months. Marcus and Boo always bonded through the pens and really took to each other. One night Marcus broke through the bars and I found them cuddled up the next morning! Ever since Boo and Marcus have been living together — they chose each other.

Marcus is an avid cuddler and can sit on your lap for hours, giving love and getting attention. He is also very energetic and enthusiastic about toys.

Boo is more reserved and calm. She likes to be approached gently on her good side, as she is blind in one eye. Boo can be cage-protective, but once you have her out she is a total sweetheart and sucker for love.

Marcus and boo love grooming and cuddling with each other, and they love to go outside when the weather is nice and play in a safe outdoor pen.

Favourite toys:
Their favourite toys are willow balls , hay tunnels, and balls they can throw around.

Favourite foods/treats: Pellets, orchard grass, Timothy hay for Boo. Dandelion greens, cilantro. They will do anything for a Loop treat.

The adoption fee for a pair is $150. Vancouver Rabbit Rescue and Advocacy's Adoption Policy
Ready to get serious about adopting or fostering a bunny? PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE (vrra.org) WHERE YOU WILL FIND ALL THE INFO, AND THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM TO SUBMIT. [Please note: We recently have had to increase our adoption fees from $60 to $75 per rabbit. We are in the process of updating the rabbits' descriptions to the new costs.] We welcome inquiries about specific rabbits available for adoption, but are also keen to work in partnership with you to match you with the perfect rabbit for your specific home. Just like cats and dogs, bunnies have individual and unique personalities: some are gregarious and some are very shy; some need lots of room to roam and run around, while others are couch potatoes. We know all the bunnies at our shelter in-depth, and and when you visit, will ensure that you can meet the best prospective bunnies for your particular home environment. New to the world of house rabbits? We strongly encourage all bunny adopters - but in particular new bunny people - to pick up a copy of “The House Rabbit Handbook: How to Live with an Urban Rabbit”. This is a wonderful and factual introduction to the world of bunnies and will tell you most everything you need to know to be a committed human to a bunny family member. The Handbook is available through most online sellers (e.g. Amazon) and we also have copies for sale at our shelter.
