Billy Belsnickel and his lady friend Ginny Tiggywinkle were sadly discarded in the backyard of a home in Philadelphia in November. Fortunately, a kind neighbor reached out for help, and our President, Liz, brought Billy and Ginny to safety shortly before Thanksgiving. Billy has come a very long way in the almost two months that he has been in foster care with us. He is a voracious eater, and has filled out so nicely now that he has a proper diet and all the hay that he can eat. When Billy isn’t eating, or skipping about his pen, you’ll most likely find him napping - Billy is an expert napper. He loves to flop over on his side for a good snooze once he’s achieved full belly status. Since his neuter, Billy’s litter box manners have gone from an F minus to an A!

Experience has unfortunately taught Billy that humans are guilty until proven innocent, and he sometimes has a hard time overcoming this opinion. He has learned to grunt and bat at hands, and will sometimes nip. Like most bunnies, he detests being picked up, but then once corralled, he will melt into the chest for some pets. Billy is a complicated little man in this way - mostly sweet, but with some concerns! Billy has not learned to expect kindness from humans, and therefore, seems almost surprised by it. Billy would likely do best in an experienced bunny home where he is minimally confined, and is the perfect bunny for the adopter who seeks the great reward of gaining the trust of a creature whom this world has let down. It will take some time to undo the past, but already Billy has shown great promise - there is a treasure to be had in this bunny, it’s just going to take the right person to uncover it.
