Hi there, I'm Mila! I'm a striking lab mix with gorgeous blue eyes and a winning smile.

When I joined the Underdogs family, I had heartworm disease, which I'm preparing to receive treatments for. Once treatments are done I should be good as new, but until then I'm supposed to stay calm so that I don't suffer any nasty side effects. Being calm is hard for me since I am always ready to hop up and go! Foster mom and dad have been teaching me "settle down" and "leave it" to help me learn to be more calm. I'm getting pretty good at it, but relaxing doesn't come naturally - I'd much rather play!

I get along great with other dogs and would be so happy if my adoptive home had another dog to play with! I'm fully kennel trained and housebroken, and have been learning how to walk on a leash. I am super cuddly and affectionate with my people, and always want to be right up against you - I definitely love my head scratches! I've been learning to give my humans space when they ask for it but if they are ready to give me attention I'll be there in a flash. I love to play with toys but believe in total destruction - I'm a heavy chewer, but I have so much fun doing it!

I'd love to find a fun, active home to spend the rest of my days with, but one that will keep me calm during my treatments in the next little while as well. Do you think we'd be a good match? Apply to meet me!
