Humphrey Yorkshire Terrier & Poodle Mix Freeport, NY

Oh poor Humphrey! We we got the call about him we had no idea what horror this pup had suffered through. A volunteer went to the address we were given to get him into the rescue and what she saw was vile! This poor little pup had lived his entire 1.5 yrs of life in a crate. He ate, slept, peeped and pooped in there. He never was let out and his physical condition was horrific. You can see in the second picture of him what he looked like. What you can't see is the stench of sleeping in urine and feces that he was encased in. His eyes were do infected that he could barely open them.
We started treating the eye infection, got him to a groomer and had him shave down and then to the vet to be neutered and start on antibiotics for the secondary infection he came down with from his eye issues. He was terrified of humans and wanted nothing to do with us in the beginning but once he started to feel better he started to blossom into the yorkie he is today! Humphrey is now healthy and happy and ready to go to his furever home!
He plays like a typical Yorkie with a Napoleon complex and makes silly growly noises to get the other foster pups to engage with him, He loves other dogs and all people!
Humphrey is 1.5yrs old, fully vetted, a real cuddler and now that he is clean he loves to be brushed and fussed over. He weights about 8.5 lbs. He cannot be left in a crate since he doesn't understand that he doesn't have to go potty in it and it's not really necessary for him. He is housebroken, uses a doggy door and is not destructive in any way.
