Meet Cooper

Hey everyone! My name is Cooper!
I am a 9 month old puppy in search of my furever home. My story took a turn for the worse when I was 3 months old. Let me share....

I had a home and I was a happy puppy. Running and falling on my face, barking, playing, and loving life. Until July 5, 2019. I did something, not sure what because I was still learning.....and someone hit me on my back, very hard. The vet said I was struck by a piece of rebar. I couldn't feel my back legs or walk or play. Then they put me in the car and dumped me alongside a busy road. It was cold and scary out there. I laid there all night so scared. Then a woman stopped to check on me, to see if I was alive . When she realized that I was, she took me to Harris County Animal Shelter.
The vet did xrays and said my spine was broken and they said I had until 3pm to find a home or I would be put to sleep. Wag Again Rescue was there to pick up another dog and they saw me. They took me to the emergency vet who took me to surgery.
I spent 3 months at the vet. My spine was fused and I had stem cells implanted into my spine in July and October 2019. By November I started to wag my tail. The vet said the stem cells take a year to mature, so I am patiently waiting and hoping.

My foster momma takes me to work with her. I like to hang out on my comfy doggy bed and chew on a bone. Or play with the other dogs. I get around very well, my two front legs are very strong! I'm your typical puppy and love learning new things. I can run and play, using my cart or without it.
I love to snuggle and give lots of loving too!

I am currently being fostered in Houston, Texas as I search for my furever home. Once I find the perfect home, Wag Again will schedule me for transport to the PNW. Transport fees are $200 (this is separate from the adoption fee) as this fee is set by the transport company. All transports are done by ground, because those airplanes can be very scary.

Thank you for your interest in a Wag Again dog!
