Charlie is active, playful, and entertaining. He has a lot of energy and should keep you entertained with his shenanigans! It's like he hasn't grown out of his kitten phase -- he has the energy and playfulness of a kitten but in the body of a two-year-old cat. Because he is so active, he can be a bit unpredictable at times. Once we got to understand his body language and mannerisms, we were able to give him his space and determine when he wanted to play versus when he wanted some alone time. Since it takes a bit of time to learn his behavior, Charlie has been overlooked at the shelter and has been in our care for nearly a year. He is extremely curious. Even though Charlie is not the cuddly lap-cat type, he still provides lots of entertainment and eventually becomes trusting of people -- especially when they give him treats! He's a huge foodie and gets so excited over food. He loves to roll around on his back and squirm around. He can be very expressive with his tail. He even likes using his back two legs to stand up occasionally.
Charlie is currently in foster care, his foster parents noticed that his behavior has improved substantially and he is not as unpredictable as he used to be. Being in a normal household and being around the same people has made him more comfortable and predictable, compared to when he was in the shelter environment. As long as you understand and allow him to earn your trust, he will reward you with his headbutts. He would be a fun cat to own! He would do the best as an only cat with no young children.
