Meet Lena
My name is Lena and the first thing you need to know about my wonderful 35lb 10-year old self, is I am an ex-showgirl. Oops, I meant show-dog. But as I tell my friends—once a showdog, always a showdog, meaning I can still strut my stuff. Being a disciplined pro at following orders, after many seasons on the dog-show circuit, I do Sit, Wait, No, Go Potty and Grab the Diamond Ring and Run (alright, just kidding on the last one),
I just cannot say enough good things about myself. I will be your early warning system when the doorbell rings. I bark, but then stop as soon as the greetings begin. I walk well on lead and ignore other dogs, but will greet them with courtesy if they want to come up and say hi. I have been crate-trained, but do enjoy roaming the house. Occasionally I may pee in the house, but wouldn’t anyone who is left for too long alone?
Rides in the car are a joy, even short ones, as are long walks and just generally hanging out with the folks at home. I am a great buddy, as I love children and am very gentle with them.
AND—I DON’T SHED—woohoo, so you can’t use that as an excuse for not taking me on.
My only idiosyncrasies are that I really don’t like grass, which is a good thing if you don’t want me on it! I leave the room if you are vacuuming also. Fireworks sort of scare me, but I think that is rather normal. Well, that’s it about me. Now I would like to get to know you. And, I would love you to take me home.
