5 month old sapphire male chinchilla Chinchilla Chinchilla Wolcott, IN

We have a sapphire male chinchilla who’s looking for his new home. He came to NWI just a bit ago, and is now ready to leave and go to a family of her own. We have down that he was born around 2/11/19, which makes him right about 5 months old! Great time to bring him home.

This boy’s color is called sapphire. This is a light blueish grey color in chinchillas. We don’t have sapphires in too often, he’s definitely a pretty boy, and something unique.

This sapphire is an active boy that’s pretty much always on the go. He enjoys bouncing off the walls of his cage. As a result, he may end up in your arms, and bouncing right out of them, when you go to pick him up! He sometimes can be a little bit of a challenge to catch, due to this, but it’s totally worth it! Once you’re holding him, he’s not quite so bouncy… he does settle down a bit. He’s definitely more of a high-energy chinchilla though, so he’s not going to be one for long-time snuggles. Can definitely be handled and petted, but just, that’s not his goal in life. He wants to explore! Will you help him with that and appease him with playtime, when he’s old enough? He’ll love you forever! He doesn’t bite.

He would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had one before, as long as they understand that he is not the type to snuggle and cuddle for long periods of time. He’d be a fun playtime buddy though!

This chinchilla is currently caged alone. However, if you interested in pairing him up with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (Tradition pellets), a goodie bag of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
