Meet Apollo the White Knight

Apollo is a 2.5-year-old neutered loving boy. He weighs 75 lbs and is naturally slender. Unfortunately, due to male-male aggression, Apollo needs to be rehomed to a loving family. He would do well in a home where someone could spend most of the day with him. He is looking for someone experienced with large dogs or northern breeds. Typical male malamute characteristics. He has moments of zoomies and then would lay next to you and watch TV. Apollo is an expert digger and occasionally tries to dig inside and outside. Apollo doesn’t realize his size and loves laying in your lap and taking up the entire bed.

Apollo would prefer to be the only pet in the household but has been getting along with a similarly sized female. He could never live with another male due to male-male aggression nor be around another male dog unsupervised. Apollo does mark in the house, but most likely this is due to the presence of another large male sharing the house. He will wear a belly band but that does not deter his marking. During walks, Apollo avoids other dogs except for his two husky friends. He responds well to the dog walker and loves to give kisses.

Apollo loves all toys. He always has a toy in his mouth and wants to play fetch or get pets while he chews them. He is a good sitter and will do almost anything for a treat. Himalayan dog treats and fresh beef bones are some of his favorite chew treats.

While not too fond of many dogs, Apollo loves people and is always eager to say hi to everyone on walks. He has not lived with children but enjoys meeting them on walks. Not recommended for homes with small children due to his size and stature.

If you are interested in adopting Apollo, please contact CHAAMP at CHAAMPapplication@gmail.com for an application. You may also complete an application online thru our web site, www.CHAAMP.org

CHAAMP accepts applications ONLY from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. The information on your application will help CHAAMP determine which of our dogs is a good match for you and your family, based upon your lifestyle, other pets, etc. A home visit is required prior to all adoptions. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and cannot be visited until you have been approved for adoption.

ADOPTION FEES
~Adult dogs, the fee is $275.00
~Older dogs (eight years old or over) the adoption fee is $100.00
~Puppies between 6 months and 1 year are $350.00
~Puppies under 6 months old are $375.00

All dogs are micro chipped, spayed and neutered and up to date on vaccines. These fees help us cover these costs. The rates are higher for puppies because they require more visits to the vet and shots.
