Missy English Bulldog & Bull Terrier Mix Corvallis, OR

Missy is a 6 1/2 year old Olde Victorian Bulldogge. She is a healthy female who has had 3 litters throughout her life and is now spayed. She acts like a puppy when playing and is very loving towards people.

She has had her working life on the farm, and now is ready for retirement somewhere soft and warm. She is mellow and friendly, content to lie quietly while you read a book or follow you around the house to keep tabs on you. She seems unfamiliar with cushy beds, and is slowly getting used to the idea that it is okay to step onto them. We're still working on lying down there.

Missy is big. At 92 lbs, the vet says she is just right. This puts some strain on her joints, and she is a bit stiff at times. She has some trouble with stairs, especially going down. Regular gentle exercise helps, and your vet may recommend some joint support supplements. Otherwise her health is fine. She will not be your jogging buddy, but enjoys a stroll around the neighborhood.

There is no indication of formal training, but Missy is polite on leash and doesn't pull. She is friendly with people who pass by or stop to say hello, and enjoys that scratch behind her ears. While she was not house trained (she didn't live in a house), she has taken to it like a natural. Again, regular trips outside help.

Missy is not good with strange dogs, and should be an "only child" in her new home. She was around children at her former home, but because of her size we are seeking a home without very young children. Children 8 years old and up should be fine.
