**We would love to talk to you about Suzie or any of our other available dogs but we first need everyone to go to our website and submit an adoption application.

Suzie’s Story: Prior to coming to JCCARE, Suzie lived her entire life outside in a cage, much of the time being used as a backyard breeder dog.

Health: Suzie came into rescue with medical needs that have all been addressed. Due to her advanced age she has dry eye that is being managed by an auto immune ointment that she may eventually not need. Suzie’s hearing and eyesight are diminished but she moves around and responds fine; she responds better to hand gestures and sometimes sudden movement causes her to be skittish. Suzie was spayed, recently had a dental, and is current on all vaccinations.

Temperament: Suzie is a sweet girl who came to her foster scared and a little food aggressive. But spending time with her foster brothers has changed that. She currently lives with 6 and 7-year-old chins whom she tolerates but has only recently started trying to play with. Suzie gets excited when she wakes up in the AM and gives a little howl to say good morning. She loves meal time and wiggles with excitement.

My Ideal Home: Due to her history of living outside, Suzie is not housebroken, but Suzie’s foster mom has been working with her on housebreaking and she is making progress. Suzie will need a forever home that is willing to have the patience required to continue working on housebreaking. She does feel comfort being in a crate and will even nap in her crate with the door open. Suzie enjoys naps on the couch and would love someone to cuddle with. She has spent time around young children, but like most small dogs would do best in a home without young children

Adoption Process: To adopt a Chin from JCCARE, start by filling out the application found on our website at www.japanesechinrescue.org. The application is under the Forms menu.

If you aren’t ready to adopt yet but would like to help this dog, please click on the purple SPONSOR ME button above the name. Your donation will help us to pay for the care of this dog until he/she finds a forever home.

JCCARE also maintains the lives of many senior and special needs Chin in our “Sanctuary” program. These dogs are not listed on Petfinder, as their health issues make them unlikely to ever be adopted. If you are a lover of the breed, could you please consider sponsoring one of our seniors? You can find their pictures and stories under OUR CHIN on our web site: www.japanesechinrescue.org
