One-Eyed Scott Pekingese & Japanese Chin Mix Oak Ridge, NJ

UPDATE: several holidays have come and gone and Scott would really love to start the new year in a new home! He prefers to be an only dog or maybe with a calmer little girl dog, and is sweet once he bonds. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet him!

Happy Halloween from our newest one-eyed pirate, Scott! This little 10 year old pekingese/Japanese Chin type mix was surrendered to the local pound when his owners moved to where no pets were allowed. It’s frightening that his owners told a blind eye to his condition...his nails were all so long they were curled around multiple times and making it painful to walk! He is blind in one eye (likely it ruptured in the past due to a previous untreated injury/infection) and has very limited vision and chronic dry eye in the other. And ear and skin infections, and random mats hanging off him- sadly being surrendered to the Pound was probably the best thing to ever happen to this scared but sweet little guy!

He had surgery to remove the painful non-working eye and is getting treated with eye drops in the other, and hopefully will be feeling better and ready to start his new life soon!

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East, Morris Plains, NJ.
