CHEVY Anatolian Shepherd Mix Lincoln, NE

My name is Chevy, and I am the definition of a gentle giant. I'm calm, I love making friends, and really want a home to call my own. I am recovering after being hurt. I was hit by a car and left for dead-- I was dying in the street when I was found. I had a fractured pelvis but Dolly's Legacy took me in and got me the care I needed and I am recovering well. Right now I am walking slow and steady! I love being in a home and being a part of my foster family but I can't wait to find people of my own. When I came to Lincoln, I settled right into my foster home. I live with other dogs and we get along well (but if you ask them they'll tell you they thought I was a weirdo at first because I was just so friendly towards them!). I would also do fine in a house where its just me. I’m not really interested in the cats, they do their own thing and I am calm enough that they don’t mind me. I have done well around children-- I do not jump or chase. I love to cuddle, and like most large dogs, I believe I’m a lap dog. I’ll sleep in a kennel but would rather sleep in a bed with or near you. I am house trained and I have never left a mess in my kennel during the day or all night. I promise you won't go wrong if you add me to your family!

Chevy is an Anatolian Shepherd/mix (our best guess of breeds), weighs 80 lbs and was born approximately 8-15-16. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records.
