Meet Hope

Continuing our celebration of National Black Dog Month, Hope is a 2 year old, 22 lb black Schnauzer/Cocker mix. Bellah, Hope and their two puppies were picked up as strays by a small shelter in western Kansas. Hope is very timid. While she will come out of her kennel on her own, she flattens when we try to walk her on a leash. She is quiet and calm and seems to be crate trained. She is not sure what to do with toys, but loves chewies. Hope will need someone with a lot of patience and a quiet, calm house to learn to trust people. We think she definitely missed the socialization window when she was a puppy. She is fearful, but not aggressive. Hope has wiry schnauzer/terrier fur, so she probably won’t shed.

Hope is spayed, she is up to date on her vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Hope, go to cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the on-line adoption application. We suggest that you print a copy of the application before you hit the “submit” button, just in case! We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Hope for a visit.
