Meet TOMMY the TEDDY BEAR

Tommy the Teddy Bear' is the softest, fluffiest, big guy you will ever meet. He just wants to be your snuggle buddy. He is as smart as he is sweet. He can shake hands with you, and sits quietly for a bath (and he's in no rush for the bath to be over!). Tommy gets along great with other dogs and loves everyone he's met, with the exception of cats. He is not a fan. He shows no signs of food guarding, has great house manners and hasn't had accidents in the house. He isn't even a leg-lifter! He would do great in a family with kids & dogs (but maybe not tiny dogs or toddlers because he is a strong boy who loves to jump up and give big bear hugs). He is an amazing & wonderful dog who is so eager to have his own family. He is incredibly handsome and just downright cute. Everyone who meets him swoons over how special this boy is.

Tommy was rescued from the kill list at an over-crowded, high intake municipal shelter in Memphis, TN. He is one of the lucky ones to make it out that facility alive. Tommy is undergoing life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure he is heartworm free.

Tommy is an All-American Rescue dog, possibly a St. Bernard mixed with Border Collie (our best guess of breeds, we cannot be certain), weighs 70 lbs and is approximately 4 yrs old. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will receive a reply from DollysLegacy@aol.com within a few days of application submission, please make sure to check your spam folder if you do not see a reply within a week. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted. PLEASE be sure to answer all questions completely or it will delay processing, be sure to include vet phone#. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. If you have any questions please email DollysLegacy@aol.com.
