Meet Sadie (Spayed) - In Foster To Adopt
Sadie is a beautiful 9-year old female Husky/Norwegian Elkhound mix who was surrendered by her owner on August 30, 2018.
Sadie has a gray-and-white medium-haired coat with a thick dense texture, a long fluffy tail, and a gorgeous Husky/Elkhound face with a slender muzzle, blue eyes, and large erect ears. She was the perfect lady when HSOV Kennel Tech Morgan Jones accompanied her for outdoor glamour photos on September 1st :) Sadie walked gently on a leash and stayed close to Morgan.
Her previous owner told us that Sadie had lived with both dogs and cats and that she was ok with them. Sadie had lived with teenagers/college-age boys and did great with them, but she hasn't had any recent experience with young children.
Sadie will chase livestock if she sees an opportunity to do so :(
Sadie is frightened of thunder/lightning and shows her fear by barking and yelping. She tends to be protective of her food bowl, and she was always fed separately from the other dogs and coats in her home to prevent possible issues over food. Her previous owner felt that Sadie might have some arthritis pain since she walks slowly.
Sadie is not into playing with toys and lists "treats" as her favorite activity :)
She has spent most of her time in an outside kennel and/or fenced-in yard but has been kept indoors confined to a crate when the weather was extremely cold.
Sadie weighs 85.2 lbs and has already been spayed. She walked gently on a leash when she was outdoors for her photo session on a hot steamy September afternoon.
UPDATE; Sadie was adopted on September 16, 2018. She came back to the HSOV on September 30, 2018 and is looking for the perfect home.
