Meet Max

Max and Dottie can now be separated..

Max and Dottie have been in a foster homes and did well. They are fairly typical giants. Max is on a diet because it appears that he eats his and Dottie's food, so they are fed separately. They do need to be crated if the owner leaves the house. Max is not fond of other male dogs but does fine with other female dogs. So no male dogs in an adoptive home for Max unless you are a strong owner and may be willing to keep them separate if it doesn't work together.. Dottie seems fine with other dogs.

But VSGSR is more than happy to work with someone in the Phoenix area and have you foster them first to see if they would work. Please, you must be able to drive to Phoenix to get them. They will not be flown unless you have your own plane to come and get them.

Max and Dottie came to us from a senior couple who developed Alzheimers. It was very sad but they are now looking for a loving home. They are not littermates, but are very very bonded with each other and need to stay together. They are 6 to 7 years old. We don't know exact ages or which one is older.

After arrival here, it was discovered that Max was limping and has an infected toe. He will have it surgically removed and hopefully we will get clean margins and he will continue on through life not knowing he is missing a toe. He is fully cleared now and in great health.

We are looking for a quieter homes where they can enjoy their humans and provide lots of love to these humans. Because of their background they have never been around children.

If you are in the Phoenix area, we would love to have a foster home for either of them.
We do not know who the breeder/s are but they were purchased in the San Diego area where they are from.

Please email us if you would be interested in fostering or adopting. Either requires our adoption application which is on our website. http://www.vsgiantschnauzerrescue.org/adoption-application

Max adoption fee will be negotiated.

If you are interested in these dogs, please email us phxgsrescue@hotmail.com Email is always answered more quickly than phone calls are returned. Thank you for taking the time to email us.

Applications in the immediate area are given preference and you need to be within a day's driving distance to come and pick up a dog. We do not ship our dogs. When you adopt a dog from us and for some reason it doesn't work, the dog be returned to VSGSR and a full refund is given with in the first thirty days. Any dog adopted from us at any time comes back to Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue if the adopter can not keep the dog. We are responsible for our dogs for their lifetime. And we hope our adopters are also. Each dog will have been neutered, had full panel blood tests done, been microchipped and up to date on all of his shots. We do prefer that you be within driving distance of Phoenix to adopt one of our dogs. If the adoption doesn't work out for some reason with in the first thirty days, the adoption fee is refunded upon return of the dog. Our contract states that during the life of the dog, should something happen that you can not keep any of our dogs, the dog must be returned to VSGSR. Should a family member wish to adopt the dog, they would be given first priority. We are responsible for our dogs for their entire life. If interested, please email us at phxgsrescue@hotmail.com for more information. Emailing is the best way to contact us as we are all volunteers.
