Meet Andy

Hello there! My name is Andy. Some kind people found me late in the evening, wandering along a busy road. They wanted to keep me safe, but it was already after shelter hours, so they called my new friends at NBS Animal Rescue to pick me up. Sadly, as much as they searched, no owners were looking for me. I was in rough shape, underweight, matted fur, itchy skin, and I have no teeth. I don't dwell on the past though. The kind folks at NBS tell me that I'm perfect and love me just the way I am. I am happy, sociable, loooooove snuggling on the couch and in bed. I am in good shape now and I like to go for walks and car rides. Other dogs don't bother me one bit, big or small, I've met them all. Toddlers scare me a bit. The squeaky voices and running feet just aren't my thing. I'm so tiny (5lbs) that they might accidentally hurt me. My only other vice is this potty training thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm doing much better now that I'm neutered, but I still need frequent stops outside, and I really can't hold it for an 8 hour day. I prefer a home where my humans are home a lot (to snuggle of course), or where they can take me with them wherever they go. While the doctors estimate me at 10 years young due to having no teeth, it may have been a genetic thing. I'm young at heart, I get around great, and my eyes are bright and alert.

NBS Animal Rescue is looking to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 10yrs or older
- Must be willing to work on my potty training.

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
